Alabaster
This is where MOON begins.
Deep beneath the landscape of Aragón, Spain, alabaster lies between layers of earth and sediment.
It isn’t made. It isn’t dyed.
And no two blocks are quite the same.
From the quarry
The quarry follows the natural layers of the deposit, exposing the stone and selecting each block for its density, translucency and structure.
Then it is cut.
And that’s when you see what makes alabaster so remarkable.
Light can pass through stone.
That is why we chose it for MOON.
The alabaster doesn’t simply let the light through.
It softens it, scatters it and gives it depth.
The atelier
Finished by hand in Lisbon
The stone is quarried in Spain, then shaped and finished by hand in our Lisbon atelier, where each face is set in front of its light.
