1. Unbox Your MOON
   
   Carefully remove your MOON object from the packaging. Ensure all components are present: the MOON object, the ecological acrylic foot, and have your phone closeby.
   
   
     
2. Download the App
   
   For Android: Download from Google Play
   For iOS: Download from the App Store
   
   
     
3. Power Up
   
   Plug in your MOON (connect it to a power source). Your piece will automatically turn on if there's a moon visible, else no worries.
   
   
    
4. Connecting the App
   
   Open the app on your phone and ensure Bluetooth is enabled. The app will search for nearby MOON devices. Get within 1 meter of the object. Select your MOON when it appears in the list.
   
   
    
5. Choose Your Mode
   
   Select REAL or EVERLIT Mode, read more about the difference in the next section.
    

• Contemplative Mode
  
  The original, most fascinating functionality of MOON. In this mode, the object follows the exact phase of the moon — it shows the illuminated percentage and the angle of the illuminated percentage in real time.
  
  But that's not all, it also lights up autonomously when the moon rises and dims when the moon sets, every day. Since the moon rises each day 50 minutes later on average — this means you will really learn to live with the cycles of the moon and its surprising effects.
  
    
• Everlit Mode
  
  The phase in Everlit mode will always be shown, even if the moon is below the horizon in your location. It makes for a more practical light-object that can always show the actual moonphase.
  
  The piece still shows the exact moon phase in real time — its illuminated fraction and the angle of that moon phase depending on your location and time — and you will still need patience to see the full moon light up the entire piece.
  
  PS: there will still be no light when it's the new moon! :)
  

• Adjust The Brightness
  
  You can adjust the brightness of your MOON for both day and night. Set the daytime brightness (0-10) and nighttime brightness (0-10).
  
  Additionally, you can define when day and when night begin. This ensures automatic adjustment based on your preferred schedule.
  
  Increase brightness for bright environments, and reduce it at night or in low light for a softer glow.
  
  
  
• Turn It Off Anytime
  
  You can turn the brightness to zero to effectively turn off the MOON.
  
  Pro tip: you can also use brightness as a timer: if day time starts at 9 AM and night_time begins at 11 PM, setting the night brightness to zero will act as an automatic timer, turning it off at night.
  
  
  
• Warmth (MOON Ninety and Sixteen Opal)
  
  On the Opal and the Ninety you can tune the light from warm amber to cool white, 1800 to 7000K. Adjust it in the app.
  
  
  
• Add WiFi details
  
  In the latest mobile application, you now have the option to add your WiFi credentials. This will allow the MOON to automatically verify its position every 24 hours, for added accuracy.
  
  
  
• Set The Backlight Strength (MOON Ninety)
  
  If you have a MOON Ninety, head to advanced settings. There you will find a way to set the strength of the backlight behind the piece.
  
  
  

Three Surprising Effects:

• Visible/Invisible Phases
  
  In REAL mode, MOON only lights up when the moon is visible, or above the horizon, at your location and time. The moon isn’t just a nighttime phenomena. In fact, the moon is visible during the day about 50% of the time. Once you own a MOON you'll start experiencing that the moon rises 50 minutes later each day on average.
  
  In EVERLIT mode, MOON makes abstraction of this and shows the current phase at all times.
   
  
• lluminated Percentage of the Moon
  
  Experience the exact illumination of the moon as it waxes and wanes over the course of a 29.5-day lunar cycle. From a New Moon (0% illumination) to a Full Moon (100% illumination) and back again, MOON replicates the phases in real time, providing an accurate, dynamic representation of the moon’s cycle.
   
  
• Angle of Illuminated Fraction
  
  The angle of the illuminated part of the moon changes based on the direction of sunlight, which can come from the left, right, top, or bottom, depending on the moon's and sun's location. Additionally, the angle will vary based on your location on Earth. In the Southern Hemisphere, you'll see the moon flipped upside down compared to the Northern Hemisphere.

Use REAL Mode to enjoy the authentic lunar cycle and place MOON anywhere—its phase will automatically adjust over time. Choose a soft brightness, choose any room except your sleeping room. Tilt it in any way you prefer. Enjoy, find peace.
